Mid-way Point of the Season

The baseball season is moving right along, we are now at the mid-point of the season.  Some of the teams are still looking for their first win while others are starting to set their sights on a top three finish. But, letīs not forget that there is still a lot of baseball left to play this season.

This past week league exective wrote a Memo out to all Coaches, Players and Umpires to remind everyone that poor sportsmanship is not going to be tolerated after learning of a number of incidents occurring. We wanted to remind everyone of our Mission Statement: "Sechelt Minor Softball provides the organization, administration, and operation of fast-pitch softball for youth on the Sunshine Coast. As an amateur sports program, we promote an active lifestyle, lifelong participation in sports, active community involvement in youth programs, the concepts of sportsmanship and fair-play, equal opportunities for youth, drug and alcohol free fun, respectful social interaction, and the development of positive mentorships between adults and youth. We believe that it is how you play the game that counts."

On a more positive note, the Exective is working on bringing Mike Rennie the coach of the Olympic Womenīs Fastpitch team to the coast in mid July. We are planning to get more information out in the next week or so to our players.

Good Luck to all teams in week 6 of the Baseball season!
