To all baseball Moms : ´Happy Mothers Day´.

To all the baseball Moms: ´Happy Mother´s Day´.

It was another great week for fast-pitch softball on the Sunshine Coast along with excellent weather for playing ball. All of the players should now be getting more familiar with their new team-mates and playing their positions.

It is important that coaches keep challenging their players in order to improve each game and practise. This should be done by encouraging the players in a positive manner and by teaching them proper mechanics (throwing, hitting, catching, pitching, etc).  You can also ask more senior level coaches for ideas.  Having a practise plan will help you to stay organized and to accomplish the skills that you want to teach your players. Coaches should only work on ten-minute skill assignments. Make sure that you are explaining and demonstrating the skill, as well as getting feedback from the players.

The car wash was a big success!! We want to thank the owner of the pub "Arden" for letting us use the parking lot, and also to thank those who showed their support and brought their cars in to be washed. Most of all, we want to thank all the players and their friends, coaches, parents and Director´s who volunteered their time.  The money earned from the car wash will go towards purchasing trophies for the year-end tournament.

We also want to remind players that they need to be wearing their uniforms when they are on the field, this includes their hat.  Umpires will not let you play if you don´t have your full uniform.

Good Luck to all teams in week five of the baseball sesaon!
