A team of girls made up from the Sechelt Minor Softball PeeWee Division competed in a an exhibition game against the Gibsons Girls Minor Softball team "Active Marine".  The fastpich girl´s game was played on Sunday June 3rd at Hackett Park in perfect weather conditions. Both teams enjoyed playing each other and were were brought together by their coaches who met at the SFU coaching clinic.

The game started off with Sechelt holding Gibsons to 1 run and then getting 3 runs of their own. In the second inning Gibsons answered back with 2 runs, and the girls knew the competition was on. Sechelt was limited to 1 run in the bottom of the second inning; in the 3rd and 4th inning Sechelt held Gibsons to 0 runs and scored back-to-back 5 run innings. Gibsons fought back and drove in 5 runs of their own with Sechelt gaining another 5 runs. The last inning showed Gibsons up 1 more run but it was not enough to catch Sechelt, and the final score was Sechelt: 18, Gibsons: 9. Gibsons used this game to prepare for their up-coming tournament and utilized a different pitcher each inning. Both teams were enthusiastic about playing against one another and enjoyed the friendly match.

After the game the teams got together for a group photo followed by a barbeque at the park. Sechelt appreciated the effort put forth by the Gibsons team in taking the time to come up to play.
