Six month off-season Pitching Clinic comes to an end

The Sechelt Minor Softball Assocation along with the parents and players would like to thank Rob Williams for teaching the pitching clinic.  The clinic ran each week from Sept 19th, 2005 to March 6, 2006. Tim Hayward and Sid Quinn as well as Rob´s son Terry also assisted Rob as much as they could.

Rob had a core group of 10 players made up of SMSA league players and at one time reached a peak of 20 players from all over the Sunshine Coast.  Each week Rob taught the pitchers various drills and mechanics to perfect their windmill form. Also, players would test themselves with the new Radar Gun to see how quick they were pitching. Many of the players improved their pitching speed by 5-10 miles an hour as well as their accuracy and form.  Rob encourages the pitchers to throw rocks at the beach underhand into the ocean or practise with their parents and friends to keep honing their skills.  It was a fun time for those that came out and hopefully next year the SMSA can put on another clinic during the baseball off season.  Again, thanks Rob for his dedication and support of our young athletes on the Sunshine Coast.
