Letīs Play Ball

The 2005 Sechelt Minor Softball league season is ready to commence April 11, 2005.  We had a good turn out of kids who registered to play mixed softtball this year and everyone is excited about the new season. The Sechelt Minor Softball Association Executive met at the Sunshine Coast Ice Arena on April 2nd with the coaches and placed the  players onto teams.

This year we have 26 teams in 6 Divsions made up of players whose ages range from 5-18 years. We want to welcome our newest players into the league who are just starting out in T-Ball. The Mini Mite and Mite Divsions should also have a lot of fun this year learning the game and the skills. The Squirt, PeeWee and Bantam should be extremely exciting competing for the League Championship in their respected Divisions. This year we have enough players to make up 5 PeeWee teams and 6 Bantam teams.

We were also able to put on a coaching and umpireīs clinic in early April that was arranged by the League Executive.  It is just as important to ensure the coaches and umpires are being developed along with the players to better understand the fundementals of the game.

Our new website was also launched which we are hoping is a great asset in communicating with our players, coaches, umpires, parents and fans.  We hope everyone has a great time playing ball this season, and good luck to all the teams!
